Both have their merits so it would depend on the situational requirements. It my personal preference to use Know It! mode due to it not requiring a live environment and it’s ability to track end-use progress.
Unfortunately not. The oracle_gateway.html file has the default hard coded to the UPK topics. So, with the UPK 12.1.2, it is not possible to have Oracle Default Help as primary and UPK content as secondary.
No, unfortunately Oracle has not added that capability to UPK. The only option available is the Presentation publishing output where UPK turns each individual topic into a standalone presentation file.

When recording topics there are a number of ways to check if a topic has been recorded or just created as a place holder. The topic icon shown in the Table of Contents have visual indication to where it has been recorded. When the topic has been recorded on, the icon has what looks like
