What is the purpose of the Overlay function?
Overlay is a way to mass edit screenshots using Microsoft Office’s PowerPoint.
Can I edit the screenshots?
Yes. UPK developer allows you to edit screenshots using an external image editing program. Simply click the “Edit Screenshot” button, make your changes, SAVE, and then exit out of the program. The default image editing program is best set as Microsoft Paint.
When attempting to check in/ check out content an error has popped up regarding a time/clock issue, how do I fix it?
It is possible there the passwords have expired so there are a few options: -change password for accounts (decrypt the web.config files, update with new password, and encrypt the files again) or -reset accounts on the database level and set the password expiration to never using the same PW currently in place.
Where do I to customize a player package created using UPK 12.1?
The customization of the player is done bye editing the skin.css file located as follows Publishing Content/Player Package/css/skin.css
Did Oracle phase out the standalone Record It! tool?
No. The initial release of UPK Developer did not include the tool but with the most recent update (12.1.0.2) the standalone Record It! tool has been reinstated
Can the UPK Player be accessed behind firewalls?
Yes. The UPK Player is DHTML and can be accessed behind most firewalls.
When I click on a link to launch the Player nothing happens.
The UPK Player opens in a new browser window. If you have a pop-up blocker installed, disable or uninstall it.
I was asked to update my User Profile, now can’t find any of my content. How can it be retrieved?
UPK Developer has an button called “Scan for Lost Documents” in the General Library settings. Bread Crumbs Tools/Options/General-Library If you still encounter recovery issues afterwards, contact Technical Support.
Can you change the default icon for every frame?
Yes. The default icon is set for template purposes, but you can change the icon used on every frame by clicking the “Bubble Icon” button and choosing the desired icon.
