When recording topics there are a number of ways to check if a topic has been recorded or just created as a place holder. The topic icon shown in the Table of Contents have visual indication to where it has been recorded. When the topic has been recorded on, the icon has what looks like lines inside of the little text bubble to the left of the topic name. Then the topic has yet to be recorded on it will simply be a blank text bubble.
