I created a document and saved it on my desktop and when i went into the UPK client to import it , I cannot see it on the import screen and I do not see an option to publish it to the KC.

Saving a document in UPK developer does not save an actual document to your hard drive directly but to a specific directory encoded for use with UPK Developer. So when you go to import it, the file will not show because what it is looking for is an “.odarc” file. The odarc file is the result of  exporting the module for use on a different installation of UPK.

To export your module to odarc form follow these steps

Tools/Export/Documents
Choose the location for export

Click “Export my selection and related documents”

Click Export
